There are old and fascinating buildings and quiet corners of villages with their various stone colours, angles and features. There are tree shapes to capture. And for landscape work, the interlocking horizons across the Corbières Hills, with their varieties of greens blending with the mauves and blues of the distance and sky provide a challenge for the most experienced pallette.
Field sketching from anyone of the many viewpoints can provide a vivid representation of structure and vegetation, or show how the many shades of grey can interlace towards a distant horizon on even a cloudy day.
