Taurize is a tiny, stone village which nestles in the folds of the Corbiéres Hills in south-western France, above the beautiful and little known Val de Dagne. Visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_de_dagne.
Although only 25 minutes from Carcassonne, and 45 minutes from Narbonne, the valley is off the main routes and therefore not often seen by tourists. However it evokes such remarkably powerful feelings of space and peace, with its breathtaking views in the clear, dry Corbières air, that those who visit are keen to return; and those who live here could never contemplate leaving.
The valley floor and lower slopes are a patchwork of vines and occasional other crops, to which the upper slopes form a thickly forested backdrop. Added to this the valley and its slopes are home to many types of orchid and other wild flowers, and visitors are attracted in the spring and summer by the prospect of seeing an unusual variety in flower.
This is the perfect area for walking, for cycling, for painting, or simply as a place to relax and switch off from the stresses of everyday life, and we are able to offer comfortable and reasonable Bed and Breakfast facilities.
